Seems like i'm going into NTU Nanyang Business School for sure. And it's kinda funny that i made up my mind during my live section firing. =)
Was unable to book out on saturday due to the live firing @ SAFTI. It was to be an event which will only end at midnight and we were all sent back from the western side of singapore to the eastern side in our little tekong island.
Was sleeping on our way to the Live Firing courses and woke up in the midst of NTU! felt extremely weird.. did the bus sent us to the wrong location? Well anyway i turned my head and saw this huge building that reads "Block 4 Library". It was so big and nice that i could foresee myself coming over to this library and study throughout my uni life! anyway, we were supposed to walk from ntu along a drain and then step onto a small dirt path into the live firing area. And while walking to the range, I set my mind on NTU, together with another platoon mate who had already accepted NBS.
Past midnight, we took the bus out from NTU and i was looking at the campus life all around. The halls are new and big.. it's near perfect for me to stay in. The place is just so darn conducive for me in my opinion.. A plus factor for me in wanting to study there.
Got home at 8.30am today, and i noticed this letter on my table which did not indicate where is was from. When i took out the content from this A4 envelope, i realised that it was from ntu. "Come Experience LIFE @ NTU". The brochures were enclosed in this little bag card which r had a little map of ntu and a "stress-free university selection handbook". I really felt wanted by ntu more than nus. NTU has sent me so many informative stuffs throughout my post-A life and invited me to various sessions and tea party gathering. While NUS just gave me a letter of acceptance and nothing else.
Started this week in army with a bad bout of diarrhoea. Actually it started b4 bookin, which restricted me from gg CB. =\ Couldnt find an open clinic on monday which was a public holiday. Anyway headed to PTMC to see the MO who gave me 2 days ATT B. and with 3 days of recovery period by SISPEC. So i was on status for the whole week, missing out the 16 km route march and the live firing. Made to do sai kang on those days, setting out water points during the route marches and loading live rounds into magazines and distributing them during the live firing. Both of these days there was this common trait: we were all feeding mosquitoes. AT the reclaimed land during route march, we were all so badly attacked by the mosquitoes that our whole face and neck were all swollen. Yes, i felt that there were 20 mosquitoes on me at any given time. Killed at least 50 mosquitoes in less than an hour. Just imagine that. At SAFTI, due to me having to distribute ammo, i couldnt really respond to the mosquito bites. All i can do was to become a killing bed for mosquitoes which my frens will just kill them on my back. The result? i had 30+ mosquito bites on each of my thighs.
Failed to make it for ocs. Shortlisted for the initial OC (Officer in Command) interview, but only 1 guy in my platoon had the chance to proceed on for the second CO (Commanding Officer). Really disappointed. But i accept the fact of life. In army i guess people with good academic credits will always step onto the higher platforms. For fucked up people like me, all i can be is a small fry to execute commands from higher authority. Well screw it. I'll just be a corporal on 1st june and then i should be on my way to ASLC and Taiwan, since that supposedly all those shortlisted for OC interview will definitely go to ASLC. and be in tekong for another 11 weeks.
