Well well.. I'm trying hard to convince myself tt some idiotic platoon really was still doing rifle drills late at night..
As stated in the earlier post, i was on attend C status which only requires me to get back to tekong on 20th 0800.. but my parents insisted tt i go back the night b4 coz i, being a sleepyhead, might just not wake up at 0500 and be AWOL for a few hours.. so i was back at the company block at 2100hr.. funny thing is when i got back there my buddies told me tt i was due for the same medical review by the air force again.. wth? i just completed it on 18th.. haha.. anyway my platoon sergeant (ps) just told me to go.. so i can get early bookout lol..
Anyway our company had Routine Order (RO) together.. mostly on briefings on the next day booking out details.. lights out was at 2315.. i gladly hit into our bunk n lie on my bed .. but somehow i couldnt sleep.. maybe the bed was comparatively uncomfortable compared to my own bed after sleeping at home for a day.. so i just toss n turn.. scratching the mosquito bites on my arm..
then, i heard rifle drills. the typical rifle drills in which we would do to ensure that there's no more rounds (bullets in army terms) in our rifles.. i was just abit surprised at tt time tt some platoon is actually doing the drills so late at night.. shouldnt be our company coz we were given the same lights out order.. so it might be the next block Raven company doing the drills down at our company line.. coz the sound was quite loud in the still of the night.. i vividly remembered tt the sounds of the drills like when u cork up the rifle n stuffs wasnt tt well synchronised.. i looked at my watch n it was ard 0030hr.. 5-10 mins later the sound ended.. then i continued to toss n turn in my own bed..
the next morning, being bored, i talked to my section about the crazy platoon tt was doing the drills late at night.. 3 of us out of 12 heard it.. didnt think so much about it till i booked out.. suddenly realised tt it's not quite possible for anyone to still be holding on to the rifle at such time of the night.. becoz each soldier was supposed to have 7 hours of sleep (although most of the time we had only 6). arms were to be kept everyday and if it was a punishment no one would go n draw arms.. punishments at such time of the night for platoons not sleeping would be at most doing pushups n stuffs.. my friends all said it was not quite possible for that to happen.. so..
WHAT DID I HEAR?
someone in school 2.. esp those in Raven company.. please try n convince me tt it is not as what i had thought so..
